developing your shared lives scheme
Many local areas have Shared Lives schemes, but they are often small scale and marginalised, or provide support to a limited group or in a limited way. Individuals, communities and public bodies lose out where schemes limit the services that they provide and the people that they serve.
Community Catalysts recognises that local authorities sometimes need support to further develop and expand the service or make good use of Shared Lives capacity.
That is why we offer local authorities and scheme managers help to make the best of the service they offer and expand it to benefit more people.
master classes
We run recession busting master classes for Commissioners and Shared Lives schemes, giving them the knowledge and skills needed to develop and extend their Shared Lives service.
The series runs over 5 months and class sizes are limited to 10 people.

individual support
If you want more individual support we will work in a way that best suits you, taking account of the way your scheme has been established and its aims. We work with you and your scheme to assess the potential for the Shared Lives service, help you produce a strategy for the development of the scheme and to implement that strategy.
We can also support you to review high cost residential arrangements and identify those that could be recommissioned through Shared Lives at a lower cost and with better outcomes for people.
We can work with your Scheme to design and establish new arrangements that benefit all those involved and help you to save money.

what users have to say…
“Earlier this year, I called upon the expertise of Sian Lockwood to put together an ‘invest to save’ business proposal for the expansion of the Shropshire Shared Lives Scheme. Sian visited the office and attended meetings which provided the valuable ‘backup’ needed to promote the idea to senior management.
Being a very small team, in a large rural area makes it difficult for us to set time aside to expand and develop – Sian provided a business plan which was tailored perfectly to our needs, concentrating on the areas where we could grow the most. We now have a 3 year business proposal incorporating the provision of placements for Older people as well as adults with learning disabilities which is a new and exciting venture for us
