Community Catalysts was established in January 2010 by Shared Lives Plus, the umbrella organisation representing small scale local social care and health services including Shared Lives. Shared Lives Plus aims are to promote the effective provision of accommodation, care and support for vulnerable adults within very small-scale family and community settings.

Shared Lives Plus has established Community Catalysts as a social enterprise to allow it to take forward its charitable purposes through trading. The new company is at the same time generating funds which will ensure that Shared Lives Plus is financially self sufficient and able to continue its important work into the future.
