New Community Enterprise Project in East Cambridgeshire

28 September 2021 · Categories: Communities Care

Community Catalysts is excited to launch a new 2 year project commissioned by Cambridgeshire County Council, working alongside their Care Together in East Cambridgeshire initiative. The project will increase the choice of care and support options for older people in the East Cambridgeshire area.

How will the community enterprise project work?

An older man is sitting in a bus next to an older woman who runs a community enterprise and is taking him for a day out. Both people are smiling.Anna Tuck has been employed as the local Catalyst who will work with local people who are already running, or are interested in setting up, small community enterprises offering a wide range of care and support for older and disabled people at home and in the community. She will support people to set up and develop their community enterprise, understand relevant legislation and regulation and navigate Direct Payments and Individual Service Funds. Helping local people help other local people.

Which areas will the community enterprise cover?

Anna is working in four main areas in East Cambridgeshire: Ely, Littleport, Soham and Burwell, including the surrounding villages.

We are very happy to be working with Community Catalysts to develop care micro-enterprises in Cambridgeshire, offering more choice and flexibility to our citizens, whilst enabling opportunities for income generation in rural communities.

How can people get involved?
