Amazing opportunity for enterprises to create a ‘buzz’ online

14 June 2022 · Categories: Events, Innovators Learn

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve teamed up with the fabulous Ruby Star Associates to offer a brand new learning programme to help small enterprises, groups and organisations who offer care or support (we call these community enterprises) to start or extend their online activities and create a ‘buzz’ online.

The Buzz logoDuring the Covid lockdown, we set up The Buzz, which offered fun, free and accessible videos for people to try new hobbies at home. We also created an online Facebook community where people could share their experiences of the videos. We know that hundreds of people enjoyed videos on The Buzz through lockdown. Since then, people have told us they would like to try more interactive experiences through live online activities and events.

As part of Community Catalysts’ ethos, we like to give back and reinvest where we can. This year we’re funding an exciting new online programme as an extension of The Buzz. The programme is a unique opportunity for community enterprises to learn how to create, share and run their own live and engaging online activities and events.

The Buzz had such a great impact during the pandemic. The feedback was amazing! So it’s incredibly exciting to be able to build on this and invest in a learning programme to help enterprises develop an online offer so more people can benefit.

About the programme

The programme is completely free (as we’re funding it ourselves) and is an amazing opportunity for people who run, or work in, community enterprises to:

  • build confidence in using different technologies
  • create new online activities
  • extend current activities online

The programme will take place online and includes 4 core learning sessions plus a further 5 optional sessions. The sessions will run across a series of mornings from September to December and will include a breadth of topics:

Core sessions (will run 9:30-12:00)

  • 6th September – Welcome to the programme and explore how to engage people online
  • 19th September – How to present (including a look at accessibility options)
  • 6th October – Using video and images
  • 18th October – Being heard and the audio

Optional sessions (will run 9:30-12:30)

  • 1st November – Troubleshooting clinic
  • 10th November – A focus on paying customers
  • 17th November – How do people know you are what they need?
  • 24th November – Exploring more possibilities
  • 1st December – Testing and trying things out

There are 20 free places available on the programme. The small size of the cohort means there will be plenty of opportunities for people to chat, share learning, insights…and any tech frustrations!

How to apply for a free place

If you’d like to join our programme simply download and fill in our application form from here and return it to adrian@rubystarassociates.co.uk by 5pm on 16th August 2022. Or if you know anyone who is interested in taking their offer online, please do share with them.

If you’re not sure how to complete your application, or how to put what you learn into practice, contact Adrian from Ruby Star Associates at adrian@rubystarassociates.co.uk who will arrange for one of our lovely local Catalysts to help you out.

We will let you know if you have gained a place on the programme by close of play on Wednesday 24th August 2022.

We’ve really enjoyed putting together this innovative learning programme with Community Catalysts. It’s an amazing opportunity for people who want to connect with people in a different way and offer something unique through livestreaming. We’re looking forward to getting started with the sessions!
