Community Catalysts has partnered with Devon County Council on a new community micro-enterprise project which will run until March 2024.

It is so important that people who need care and support have a choice of person-centred, high quality and flexible local options – starting a community micro-enterprise is a fantastic opportunity for people to provide this much needed care whilst using their passions and skills to generate their own income.

In addition to supporting new community micro-enterprises to develop, we can also work with existing small enterprises who may want to expand or diversify the support they offer to people.

Our areas of focus are in the Exeter south and west areas, around the ‘Exeter Banana’ and through to the Teignmouth corridor.

We are already working closely with local organisations to minimise duplication and help local people use their energies and talents to form sustainable community micro-enterprises that can support other local people and create jobs, volunteering opportunities and resilient communities.

Devon County Council is excited to be working with Community Catalysts to find new ways to meet the needs of the people of Devon; solutions that work at a very local level and respond to the individual choices of people who need care and support.

Solveig Wright, Deputy Head of Service, Adult Commissioning and Health, Devon County Council

I am delighted to be in the role of Community Enterprise Catalyst in Devon. The extent of support available to people via our development programme is invaluable. It is exciting to be in a position to help Devon’s entrepreneurs to thrive whilst also developing a network of enterprises who can support each other as well as their communities. Community Catalysts is an organisation which does amazing work throughout the county and I am happy that they and Devon County Council have started a partnership which has so much potential to enact positive local change.
