Supports the development of small enterprises and ventures offering help and care at home and in the community for older and disabled people.
The project has strong links to other local, strengths-based work and works closely with the CVS, business enterprise support agencies and Council teams.
Active work has been undertaken to introduce front line workers to the project and concept of community enterprises. Events called ‘Helping People to Get a Good Life’ have provided an opportunity for staff to meet enterprise leaders, ask questions about their offer and learn about the ‘Doing It Right Standards’ that they have signed up to as part of the Community Catalysts programme.
The initial 2 year programme in Rochdale has now finished and Community Catalysts are working alongside the Council to ensure that the existing entrepreneurs are supported and connected locally.
