Suffolk

Supporting local developments by increasing real choice of highly personal local care and support options.

Focus on supporting older people by working with local people who want to develop a new enterprise or venture that offers highly personal homecare/help at home or support in the community. As well as helping people to set up new enterprises, Community Catalysts can advise established small groups and organisations that want to diversify or extend what they offer. A partnership with Suffolk Council, the project aims to increase the care options for older people and increase the opportunities for people who might take a Direct Payment. Work started in the Waveney district and has now extended across the County.

As part of the project, we have developed a directory to showcase community enterprises in the local area.

We are both delighted and excited to be working with Community Catalysts CIC on an asset based approach, working within our communities to develop enterprises which help people in their own homes and in the community. Asset based working is key to our desire to promote independence and build strong, resilient communities for the benefit of all those that live within them. We believe that working in this way will enable people to live independently for longer.
