Your Life, Your Opportunities – Bolton

Bolton Council think it’s important that people can flourish through varied and fulfilling opportunities, for example through hobbies, employment, art, outings, leisure, learning, fitness and friendships. Their aim is to support people’s independence and help them live good lives with positive links to their community.

In partnership with Bolton Cares and local partners they are leading a review of the way that day services are provided in Bolton. They hope to make services available in ways that are more flexible, creative and convenient and that help people live their good life.  The voices of all the people who use the services are at the centre of this exciting piece of work.

Community Catalysts was asked to help with the engagement and coproduction elements of the project. We started with a Big Conversation, asking local people for their views and ideas. Then we developed working groups to help people reflect on what was said and coproduce a new vision. Finally, we wrote a report that the Council and its partners can use to inform the way they move forward.
