Bodster C.I.C. helps people develop communication skills, and self-esteem by offering experiential equine assisted learning exercises.
We work with anyone from 6 to 90 years in a supervised horse environment, including people who may have complex needs due to having a learning and/or physical disability, Autism, or Asperger’s, or mental health needs.
While there is no riding involved, horses are the main focus of our activities using Natural Horsemanship. This can vary from looking at how to approach a horse safely to grooming or leading a horse through an obstacle course. By working with horses on the ground and developing skills which enable communication between people and horses, learners can become more self-aware and confident and then transfer this learning and confidence to other situations. Confidence grows as our activities and sessions are led by our learners with our guidance.
Our aim is to raise aspirations and ambition and to nurture skills and attributes needed for personal fulfilment and to make a positive contribution to the community and to society.
Our work changes lives! Olivia’s story is an inspirational testament to this and can be read about here.
We welcome enquiries from parents, carers, statutory and voluntary organisations or any individual wanting to do work with ponies on the ground using Natural Horsemanship
