Caring Companion

Availability information last updated: 21st August, 2025

What do I have to offer you:
I am a retired mental health nurse of 42 years service, my speciality is dementia care and supporting people in their elder years, conveying respect, dignity, individuality and choice to help them remain in their home in the community.  I worked many years with the elderly client in a community setting and more recently in a nursing home.

In my spare  time I enjoy my garden, swimming and I am a social butterfly so I am out for meals, and visiting friends and family often,.

I still feel I have a more to give and don’t want to give up completely my very satisfying role .
I’m happy to provide non-medical, support, compassion, advice and counselling to families and meet elder care needs.

Care would include

  • Companionship
  • Socialising – trips out
  • Support and prompts if need for personal care i.e : dressing  toilet visits
  • Prepping meals and encouraging health nutrition and hydration
  • Light duties around the house, bed changes, laundry, dog walking, light gardening
  • A visit may be sitting, chatting with a cup of tea, very minimal but very important to the client
  • I have a wealth of experience and would be happy to sign post enabling choice for families if required.
I will deliver a very good standard of care and support the whole family with any advice I have gained from my nursing and life experiences.
  • I welcome Direct Payment customers and I am happy with the rate.
