My name is Jodie Knight, I am 24 years old and I currently live in South Petherton, where I have lived all of my life.
I have worked in care since the age of 18 with my most recent job being at South Petherton Community Hospital, where I have worked now for nearly 4 years. This hospital is mainly a stroke rehabilitation hospital, so I have gained a lot of experience in working with people who have suffered a stroke, people who have little or no mobility, people who are unable to communicate, and just helping people on the ward in general.
Along side my work at the hospital I was a second carer for my Nan, working alongside my mum. Nan was unable to mobilise and suffered from Parkinsons disease for 16 years.
I am very passionate about providing the best standard of care that I possibly can, and looking after people for me is a very rewarding and satisfying job. I love seeing people smile and if an individual person I am caring for is happy, then I am happy.
I find it very important when caring for people that I make sure I cover all their needs, and I will always have their best interests at heart.
I always treat people how I would like to be treated myself, and dignity and respect are two of the most important factors for me.
I understand that it can be hard to bond with someone that you don’t already know, however if you are looking for someone who is very trustworthy, outgoing, happy, helpful, caring, respectful and much more, then I am very willing to help and I would love to hear from you.
