Food Champion Programme training

The Food Champion Programme aims to ensure that lots of consistent, high quality nutrition work goes on in our communities to support people with healthy eating and healthy weight.

The Food Champion Programme includes:

  • Free two days training on healthy eating messages. Topics will include the Eatwell guide, food groups (including fibre, fats, sugars, and salt), food labelling, eating healthily on a budget, and hydration, as well as links to reliable nutrition resources to use with the people you support.
  • One year of support to plan and deliver three healthy eating initiatives within a Food Champion trainees’ setting with support for lesson plans, resources, and peer observation to ensure the information is delivered in an effective way to encourage healthy eating.

Training is planned for the following dates:

  • 2nd & 5th September 2024 at Trinity House (110-120 Upper Pemberton, Kennington, Ashford, TN25 4AZ), 09:30 – 16:30.
  • 13th & 20th January 2025 at Capital House (Jubilee Way, Faversham, ME13 8GD), 09:30 – 16:30.
