Community Enterprise Catalyst (Norfolk)

I am delighted to work for Community Catalysts promoting the micro-enterprise project that aims to increase the availability and range of care and support for people in the pilot areas of Norwich and Cromer/North Walsham, while creating more opportunities for local jobs and volunteering.

I have been employed by the local authority in Norfolk for the last 15 years or so.  I have worked in residential and day service settings, meeting and getting to know all kinds of people along the way.  In recent years I have managed the Norfolk County Council Development Worker Team, one of the council’s Early Help and Prevention teams.

Norfolk is a predominantly rural county.  Older and disabled people can encounter difficulty in finding help and support that suits them.

My role with Community Catalysts involves supporting people who would like to work for themselves with information, regulation guidance and confidence boosting to enable them to start providing all kinds of help and support that allows older people and people with disabilities to live happily and independently at home.  Local people, helping local people.
