Community Enterprise Catalyst (North Yorkshire)

For many years I have supported people to influence positive changes to the support they receive. I now utilise these skills in my role as a Community Enterprise Catalyst in North Yorkshire.

I qualified as a children’s social worker in 1996 and have worked for three local authorities in various roles supporting children and young adults.

I particularly specialised in youth voice, developing and supporting many youth voice groups across North Yorkshire. I enabled marginalised and vulnerable young people to have a voice on matters important to them and gave them the confidence and skills to inform decision makers on what changes were needed, to improve their experiences of the support they received.

As the Community Catalyst in Ryedale, I work closely with statutory and third sector organisations to ensure they are aware of the ‘Help at Home’ project and I have been overwhelmed by the positive responses and offers of support to promote it. The project will offer lots of opportunities for local people to use their knowledge and experience to help people in their communities and in turn local people will get the best support they need to lead healthy fulfilled lives.

I am passionate about people in communities being able to access the right support at the right time and I will use my knowledge and expertise as a Catalyst, to ensure that the right people successfully set up their business and support individuals to ensure their care needs are met.
