Community Enterprise Catalyst (Kent - West)

After an early career as an Executive PA and Office Manager, Nicole started work in a local special educational needs school when her twins started school.  This sparked a passion for working with young, people and she remained at the school for twenty-two years, working as a Teaching Assistant, a Senior TA, a Higher Level TA and after gaining her qualification, as a class teacher.  She has extensive experience of supporting autistic people, as well as people experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

Looking for a new challenge – but still wanting to work with people in her local area – Nicole volunteered with a London-based SEN charity whilst searching for a new position.

Based in West Kent, Nicole is really looking forward to working with us as a Community Enterprise Catalyst, and is particularly keen to find ways to support people to get involved with community enterprises and activities. Whilst working for many years in the sixth form of her school, she was surprised at how difficult it was to find services and opportunities for young people leaving SEN education; Nicole hopes to be able to make positive changes in this regard in her new role.

In her spare time, Nicole loves gardening (especially growing fruit and veg), camping, live music and the occasional music festival.
