I am very excited to be given the opportunity to work with Community Catalysts as the Community Business Coordinator on the Enterprising Community Pilot Project in Warwickshire. I am really looking forward to developing community businesses with a strong health and social care focus that can bring real choice of local options to the people of Warwickshire.

Since 2005 I have been working for Warwickshire County Council, first in the library service then moving in 2009 to Adult Social Care where I processed Direct Payments. In 2014 I was promoted to an Independent Living Officer and enjoyed providing support and advice to council customers receiving Direct Payments. I also co-developed and facilitated a training programme for Social Workers in order to grow their skills and knowledge in this area. I really enjoyed being able to help people really personalise their care and support and make a difference to their quality of life.

Prior to 2005 I worked as a Care Assistant and I enjoyed be able to provide a personal approach to each of my customers. I tailored my style according to their needs and helped them to achieve what they wanted to in that moment.

I pride myself in being able to see the bigger picture whilst also being able to talk about the minutiae. I enjoy bringing order to chaotic processes and simplifying complicated procedures. I like to cut through the red tape to bring about results that really make a difference to individual’s lives. I am passionate about giving people choice when it comes to arranging their care and support

When I am not doing this I can be found curled up with my Chihuahuas reading a good book or watching TV.
