Sonia originally trained as an engineer, moving to the voluntary community faith sector 20 years ago and has worked in various areas such as mental health, prisons, third sector infrastructure and commissioning cancer services. Sonia’s two passions are empowering communities and kindness; she has a master’s degree in Community Leadership and she runs a small charity that promotes kindness.

Sonia hopes to use this experience in her role at Community Catalysts which involves helping people to develop their own community micro-enterprises which offer care and support to other people, creating more choice and options locally.

Outside of work, Sonia loves sport, spending time with family and friends, and walking her border collie, Buddy.
