Michael works in Bath and North East Somerset to support small businesses and community micro-enterprises find the right solutions to older people’s care. Prior to working at Community Catalysts, he spent the previous eight years running his own fundraising and marketing consultancy, supporting charities, social enterprises and care services exploring issues such as income generation, community engagement, marketing and staff recruitment.
Michael has worked in the charity sector for over 30 years covering a broad range of fundraising specialisms, and worked with regional, national and international organisations. Following redundancy in 2014, he established his own consultancy to support small organisations and charities getting on the first step to marketing and income generation. He is a strong community activist with a real passion for supporting older person services.
In addition to his consultancy, Michael was a Village Agent supporting families in his local community with a range of health and wellbeing concerns. Over two years he has supported people tackling benefit applications and care reviews, as well as supporting people facing homelessness and social isolation. Michael is really passionate about working with people to empower them to find their own solutions.
In his spare time, he is an active amateur actor and can be seen treading the boards for various local drama groups. He also loves walking in the countryside with his bouncy cockapoo. He has a son who works as a lighting technician for the West End and touring shows, and a daughter who is a Learning Disability Nurse. His partner runs her own foot health business.
