I am the CEO at MacIntyre: a national charity providing education and care for disabled children and adults. I am an experienced operational director, passionate about the rights of disabled people and committed to winning hearts and minds of all stakeholders. I led MacIntyre’s response to the SEND and Social Mobility agenda and I am proud of the education offer to all children attending MacIntyre’s Independent and Multi Academy Trust schools. I provided confident leadership during a time of austerity ensuring that MacIntyre continues to innovate, differentiate and to deliver to its purpose.

MacIntyre is known for leading the way in key areas of practice and workforce development, and I am particularly proud of the organisation’s continued success in the area of personalisation, transforming care and positive behaviour support. Collaboration and effective partnership working is important to me, and I am of the view that more can be achieved when people and organisations combine their knowledge and talents.

I have worked in the education, health and social care sector since qualifying as a nurse at the start of my career. I taught on the first year of the degree-based nursing course before moving into the third sector as a senior manager. In all of my posts I have transformed service provision to ensure they push boundaries, deliver independence, autonomy and equality, and reflect the aspirations of social policy and legislation. I completed my MBA in 2004 at Southampton University and undertook the Pipeline Top Flight Course in 2016.

MacIntyre has developed sector-leading initiatives in both education and adult social care, a number of which have won prestigious awards. I have taken up the role of non-executive director at Community Catalysts, believing my passion and knowledge of the third sector will be of benefit to the company as they plan their next stage of development.
