Innovative partnership project using technology to connect people with local community enterprises who offer care or support.

A partnership with Essex County Council to run a 2-year pilot to stimulate the development and growth of community enterprises that provide a wide range of help and support for older people, people with disabilities or to improve someone’s mental health. The project will increase the choice for people who have eligible needs and pay for their care via a direct payment or independently of the council.

The project utilises the online platform called Tribe from Bronze Labs which people in receipt of a Direct Payment, or who pay for their care independently of the council, can use to find local community enterprises who can offer care or support. Community enterprises create an online profile on Tribe to share their values, missions statement, services, rates and locality.

Work is focused on the Basildon area and more recently, North Essex.

“This is an exciting project which will hopefully ensure people who have care and support needs have access to more personalised and flexible solutions. We hope that it will also help Social Workers supporting people to decide on the type of support that will best help them achieve their outcomes to be aware of a wider range of options in the Basildon area.”
