Community Catalysts has successfully partnered with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to deliver a two-year community micro-enterprise project. Led by Alice Cosgrove, the project supported 40 community micro-enterprises to complete our development programme, meeting the Doing it Right Standards and providing flexible, person-centred care and support in people’s homes and communities.
Alice has since joined Stoke-on-Trent City Council, ensuring ongoing support for this vital work. The project created 52 local jobs and 26 volunteer roles, offering new opportunities and enhancing community resilience. Community micro-enterprises deliver over 500 hours of care and support each week, helping people stay independent, connected, and at home for longer.
By fostering innovative models for care and support and collaborating with local partners, the project has made a lasting impact, promoting choice and control for people who draw on care. Community Catalysts continues to work with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to ensure the legacy of this transformative project.
As part of the project, we have developed a directory to showcase community enterprises in the local area.
