Rainbow Dreaming is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to improving emotional well-being through therapeutic miniature pony visits. The organisation brings specially trained ponies directly into care homes, hospices, hospitals, SEN settings, community groups and private homes, offering safe, meaningful animal interactions to people who may otherwise have limited access to pets or outdoor experiences.
Their visits are designed to reduce loneliness, spark conversation, stimulate memory and create moments of joy and connection. Sessions can be particularly beneficial for older adults, people living with dementia or additional support needs, individuals receiving palliative care, and those experiencing mental health issues or social isolation. The calm presence of the ponies encourages engagement, lifts mood and supports emotional well-being in a gentle, non-clinical and non-judgemental way.
In addition to therapy visits, Rainbow Dreaming CIC offers pony and unicorn appearances at events and celebrations. Income generated through these activities is reinvested back into the community, helping to fund free or subsidised visits for vulnerable individuals and under-resourced settings.
Animal welfare, safety and inclusivity are central to the organisation’s ethos. By combining compassion, professionalism and a little magic, Rainbow Dreaming CIC aims to enrich lives, strengthen community connections and make therapeutic animal experiences accessible to those who benefit from them most.
