Using photography and creative writing, I aim to help participants cultivate some peace of mind by strengthening the connection between our internal and external world.
Through the conscious action of taking a photograph we become more focused which can naturally slow down our breathing. Photography also gives us an opportunity to look outside of ourselves and to view our surroundings in new ways. Equally and alongside this, the creative writing section of the workshop will invite us to explore our feelings, thoughts and our imaginations, again offering a different perspective and fresh outlook on our everyday lives.
The “Picture Poetry and Prose” workshop offers not only a chance to reconnect with others and our environment, but also a safe space to engage with our creative selves.
Please note that the photography section of the workshop includes walking. I want to ensure that everyone has a pleasant experience, so participants should be comfortable with light physical activity.
