I have worked in care for approximately the last 15 years, some of this has been looking after my parents who unfortunately have now passed on. I strongly believe in delivering care and compassion.
My recent employment has been in a care home as an activities coordinator where I have engaged and encouraged clients to socialise and participate in activities both inside and outside of the care home. some of these activities have been going to the theatre, garden centre, organising for the male clients to have a shave on Father’s Day free of charge supported by local community barbers.
I have a good understanding of dementia care, and have also provided end of life care, I have provided personal care on a regular basis including oral care, eye care and wet shaves.
I have a current and up to date DBS clearance, and will continue with my own personal development to ensure that I keep up to date with legislative changes.
My current training consists of manual handling, first aid, safeguarding, health and safety and infection control.
