ACN (Affordable Counselling Network) is a UK-based social enterprise that provides accessible, low-cost online counselling and psychotherapy to people across the country. Its main aim is to make professional mental health support available to people who might otherwise struggle to access it due to cost, waiting lists, or life circumstances.

Overview

The Affordable Counselling Network operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC), meaning its purpose is to benefit the community rather than generate profit for shareholders. Any surplus income is reinvested into expanding mental-health support and community initiatives.

What ACN Provides

• Online one-to-one counselling delivered weekly through secure video sessions.

• Affordable pricing, typically around £30 per 50-minute session, with lower-cost concession places available for people on limited incomes.

• Ongoing therapy, rather than fixed short-term programmes, allowing clients to continue for as long as it feels helpful.

• Initial consultation assessments to understand a client’s needs and match them with a suitable counsellor.

Counsellors

ACN works with a large network of counsellors (over 150) from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. Many are trainee counsellors in supervised clinical placements, alongside qualified therapists.

Mission

The core mission of ACN is to remove barriers to therapy by providing high-quality counselling that is:
