Carolyn’s Companionship and Home Help

Availability information last updated: 29th June, 2026

Hello, I’m Carolyn, a friendly and reliable person who enjoys socialising and helping people.

I was a self-employed cleaner for twelve years before starting this business in 2022.  The clients I cleaned for were increasingly asking for assistance in other ways, so I stopped regular cleaning and now offer the following support to my clients:

  • Companionship in the home, simply having a chat over coffee or playing games
  • Taking clients out for shopping or doing their shopping for them
  • Taking clients out for leisure: to the local park, seafront, garden centre, café or just for a walk around their local area
  • Helping with paperwork, form filling, household bills and telephone calls
  • Taking clients to GP, hospital and dental appointments
  • Changing bed linen, sorting washing, putting rubbish out
  • Decluttering and general tidying
  • Taking clients out to lunch
  • Taking clients to funeral services
  • Organising possessions following a bereavement

Please do get in touch for a friendly chat to see if I can be of assistance to you.

My hourly rate is currently £18

My past work has included office administration and self employment as a registered childminder.  I have also enjoyed several volunteer roles over the last 35 years, working with schools, youth groups, Parish Councils, community groups and as an NHS volunteer during the Covid pandemic.

I have a basic DBS certificate, public liability insurance and business use on my car insurance.
