Gather Day Club is a small, welcoming space for people living with dementia, based in a comfortable home setting in Tipton St John, East Devon.

The idea behind Gather is simple. People need friendship, laughter, purpose and a sense of belonging at every stage of life. Gather is somewhere people come as themselves, not as a condition.

Gather days are deliberately small and personal, allowing us to really get to know each person. Days are built around companionship and conversation, music and reminiscence, a shared lunch and gentle activities such as gardening, baking, games and quizzes. We also get out and about, with boat trips and visits to cafés, gardens and places of interest, matched to individual interests and abilities.

There is no rigid programme or checklist. What we do is guided by the people who are there, their interests, their mood and what they feel like doing that day.

Gather is for people living with dementia who would enjoy spending time with others, sharing experiences and being part of a small, supportive group. Participants should be able to move around independently and be comfortable in a small group setting.

While Gather is very much about the person attending, a regular Gather day can also give the people who love and care for them some valuable breathing space. Time to rest or simply get things done, knowing their loved one is happy and safe.

Gather runs from 10am to 4pm, with collection and drop off from the local area included.
