Gwawr Mentoring provides mentoring support for children, young people up to age 25 and their families who are experiencing anxiety, social anxiety, non-suicidal self-injury (self-harm), or bereavement. We also support young people and adults who are living with chronic pain. After more than two decades working in education, I have seen a significant decline in the mental health of children and young people, while available support continues to fall short. CAMHS is underfunded and often has long waiting lists for both initial appointments and ongoing support, with delays ranging from months to years depending on individual needs. I started Gwawr Mentoring to help address this gap in my community. We keep our fees low so more people can access support, which I believe is essential. Sessions are available in English and Welsh, with flexible days and times to suit individual needs.
