Jackie Mayers Care

Availability information last updated: 9th July, 2025

Hi I’m Jackie,

I have worked in care for over 15 years, I love chatting to people and I am interested in their lives and their stories. I enjoy going on trips out, and having a bit of a laugh, which is very important. I am happy to lighten the load for people and their families.  I am also happy to do overnight care if that is what is needed.

I am a qualified at Level 2 in British Sign Language, I haven’t practised in some time, but I could definitely give it a go

In my spare time, I like travelling in our campervan, paddleboarding and cycling, music and reading.  References available. I am fully insured, DBS checked and I have business insurance on my car so I can take people out on adventures!

Here is a list of the kind of things I do, please call if you have any other ideas:

  • Companionship
  • Outings
  • Appointments
  • Cooking
  • Shopping

Reviews of Jackie Mayers Care

Jackie helped my elderly mother, who is severely sight impaired, to live independently at home for many years. Jackie accompanied her to the swimming pool each week and helped her with her grocery shopping. Together they enjoyed craft sessions and occasional trips out to gardens and cafes. My mother is extremely fond of Jackie and enjoys her company enormously. As my mother's needs changed Jackie happily took on a different, more hands on, role that involved bed making, laundry, meal preparation and promoting medicine. Jackie is always cheerful and is a lovely person to have around. She is kind, caring and compassionate.

Jackie has looked after my mum for over 2 years. My mum is 94 years own and continues to live independently but increasingly needs support with day to day tasks and likes to have some company in addition to neighbours and family visits. Jackie is an experienced carer who brings along an enthusiastic, lively and positive approach, which is exactly what mum needs. Tasks are varied depending on what's required on the day but can be anything from domestic chores to taking mum to hospital appointments and more often out for a coffee! Jackie is very easy to deal with, we communicate by phone or text and handle all payments electronically, which makes life easier for me as I live in London. She is also very flexible as things do inevitably get changed. I am more than happy to recommend Jackie as I trust her with the care of my mum, and my mum loves to have her around.

Jackie cared for my wife who had dementia. Jackie was an excellent carer always sensitive to my wife's needs. She interacted so well with her with conversation and activities. She was responsive to my wife's needs in every way. She managed the hard aspects of caring for someone with dementia so well and sensitively. Jackie could always be trusted so I could relax with no worries. She was always punctual. I could not have managed without carers like Jackie and can highly recommend her.
