I have been working as a Support Worker or Personal Assistant since re-training 5 years ago, and this is a job that I thoroughly enjoy.
I have lived in Frome all my life and already support various people living in my town, as well as those farther afield. I also work in villages as well as Shepton Mallet, and Wells.
I have lots of experience in social housing and the problems that can sometimes occur. I am able to help customers with bills, direct debits and any type of paperwork. I also do light gardening duties, a one off clean or declutter, and all every day tasks, in addition to being able to cover hospital and doctor appointments.
I currently spend one day a week working with people facing problems with their home due to hoarding situations and have a proven track record of helping them de-clutter their homes to live once again in a safe and tidy home.
I have experience of working with people with a range of needs including people with dementia, people that are housebound, and well as people with a disability, or with Asperger’s.
I always carry out a full Support Plan for each customer and review this as and when the customer’s needs change, and my goal as an independent worker is to keep people living safely and happily in their homes for as long as possible.
