After caring for my elderly relatives, caring became a huge part of my life and a genuine passion. I now work to help other people to get the best possible care.
Over the last 20 years I have worked with a range of people to provide the best possible care and support. I really enjoy getting to know the people I work with and helping them meet their daily needs. I also have been a HCA for the Marie curie palliative care team in Chester for ten years, a job I loved, having had personal experience of the service with both my parents.
Before coming into the care industry, I was trained as a professional chef and spent many years in hotel management and higher education teaching and assessing NVQs for the catering industry. I still love cooking and still enjoy to this day the heat of the kitchen! Naturally this made me into a hardworking and adaptive person, making me a great asset to those in need of help (including my two children!).

Majella has been helping our family since the summer of 2022 when dad was receiving end of life care at home. She was an incredible support to us all at that time. A couple of years after dad passed away, mum needed some help, and Majella came to the rescue again.
She’s helped with so many things with mum, when mum was still in her own home, she visited, took mum to appointments and helped with medication, and anything that mum needed. Once mum moved to a care home, we were delighted that Majella could help us out again by visiting mum two days a week to take her out and provide companionship. Mum sees Majella as a friend, which is such a lovely thing. Mum now has dementia, and Majella is the perfect person to help us out, as it’s a stressful time having a mum with dementia. Majella has a very kind and understanding way with mum, and she’s proactive and knowledgeable which is such a support to us as family members as we are new to the world of dementia and care homes.

For the last 2 years Majella has helped us to take care of my grandmother and to keep her safely in her own home. She is always thoughtful towards any needs my grandmother (or the rest of us!) has, she’s gone above and beyond many times, and has given much valuable advice when we’ve been unsure about how best to alter aspects of my grandmother’s day/night, in order to give her the best quality of life. When Majella is on shift I know that I can relax and not worry because she is cheerful, calm and efficient and my grandmother is safe in her hands.
