Past Times

My name is Jacqui and I have a passion for the 1940s and 50s. Would you like to chat to me about the past? Perhaps chat about your job or your childhood, did you do national service or maybe your sweetheart did? I’d love to hear about Suffolk during the during the 50s and 60s and I could also share my own family’s experiences; my dad told me he saw the gliders going to Arnhem in WW2 when he was a 5 year old lad in Ipswich, he then went on to do national service .  I am passionate about the past and keeping these memories alive.  I love to read and talk about the past, but more importantly I love to listen to the variety in people’s stories and lives.

As well as a befriending service, I can offer light house work, food preparation (I make a mean bread pudding!), I am able and insured to take people out in my car. I can plan a shopping trip to Felixstowe or the pub, and I know a lovely 1940s tea room that we could go to. I can get prescriptions and also I could provide a lift to any GP or hospital visits and I will also wait for you and take you home.  I can offer help with filling in forms. Would you like to access the internet? I can help you get set up so that you could become a real silver surfer!

I am fully insured. I have worked in the care sector for many years. I have a degree in Sociology and I have lots of training including Food Safety Certificate and Data protection. I am also a member of ‘The National Association of Care and Support Workers’. Most importantly, I have common sense and empathy which has helped me in my 54 years of life.

I’m afraid I do not offer personal care, so I cannot help with dressing or toileting.

I hope after reading my bio you would like me to come, chat and listen about PAST TIMES!!

I charge £15 an hour plus £0.45 per mile mileage if we go anywhere.
