A creative writing and photography workshop held over six sessions, every Saturday at the beautiful:
Cacao Atelier Café, 154 Mortimer Street, Herne Bay CT6 5DU
10am – 12pm

Picture Poetry & Prose blends photography and creative writing to encourage you to pause, reflect, and express yourself through a series of gentle prompts and exercises.

Using your mobile device/camera as a tool, you’ll explore the connection between images and words to inspire and shape a final piece of creative writing—this might be a short story, the beginning of a novel, a collection of poems, or even lyrics for a song.

Whether you’re new to creative expression or looking to reconnect with like-minded people, this workshop offers a calm, and supportive space for you to explore your voice and vision.

It’s not only a stepping stone to unlocking your artistic potential—it can also support your mental health and wellbeing.

A small donation is appreciated (but not obligatory), to help cover the cost of coloured ink and professional, photographic printer paper, should you wish to gift your work to someone special or simply keep for yourself.

Reviews of Picture Poetry and Prose

Pictures Poetry Prose Really enjoying this class/workshop. We meet for a coffee, then out into the town (Herne Bay) to find and photograph interesting sights on a given theme - a new one each week. Then back to discuss together and to write either a piece of poetry or prose based on what we've discovered. (No pressure to read it out if you'd rather not.) Nice to have some thinking time in a gentle, informal space. Chad (who runs it) couldn't be more supportive and kind. Loving it.
