Room to Breathe provides specialist, non-judgemental decluttering and organising support for people who feel overwhelmed in their homes. We work particularly with individuals experiencing hoarding behaviours, mental health challenges, trauma, neurodivergence, or life transitions that make managing their living environment difficult.

Our approach combines practical, hands-on support with emotional understanding, helping clients create calm, safe, and manageable spaces at a pace that feels achievable and respectful.

The Need

Many people living in cluttered or hoarded homes experience shame, anxiety, isolation, and fear of judgement. These barriers often prevent engagement with traditional cleaning or organising services, and unresolved living conditions can negatively impact mental health, physical safety, tenancy security, and overall wellbeing.

Room to Breathe fills the gap between cleaning services and clinical support by offering gentle, trauma-informed assistance that prioritises dignity, trust, and long-term change.

What We Do

  • Practical decluttering and organising support
  • Specialist hoarding support
  • Emotional support during the decluttering process
  • Goal setting and planning between sessions
  • Ongoing maintenance and accountability support
  • Signposting to other services where appropriate

Support can be offered as one-off sessions or as regular, ongoing work depending on client need.

Who We Support

  • Individuals feeling overwhelmed by clutter
  • People experiencing hoarding behaviours
  • People living with mental health challenges or trauma
  • Neurodivergent individuals
  • Older adults struggling to manage their homes
