Stress Management and Relaxation with Jenny

Hi I’m Jenny. I am retired now but worked for 30 years in the NHS in a physical rehabilitation setting. I am offering stress management and relaxation workshops at Singleton Environment Centre on John Wesley School Road, Singleton.

Everyone gets stressed at times and relaxation is one of the best ways to help with this. My sessions on stress management, relaxation and relaxation for pain management may be helpful to you.

During these sessions you will find out about the causes of stress and the effects that it has on the body. You will have the opportunity to practice different methods of relaxation and to try my own colour relaxation technique which has been successfully used to help control and manage pain. I have carried out numerous relaxation sessions with patients in my previous role and attended many courses in meditation, relaxation and colour therapy to improve my skills. I worked with patients who had had strokes or other neurological conditions like MS and Parkinson’s and people who had experienced life changing injuries or amputations. I found that many patients were very stressed due to their disabilities, particularly if this had been a sudden onset. I became quite an expert on different relaxation techniques and was able to develop some of my own. I could usually find a method to suit everyone, one they could take away and practice on their own too. As my techniques were so successful, I also carried out teaching sessions for staff.

Each session lasts around two and a half hours. The cost is £10 per session which includes a tea or coffee. All proceeds go to the centre charity – Singleton Spaces.

At the moment there are 6 dates at Singleton Environment Centre for 2023 but other sessions could be scheduled depending on take up. I am also willing to visit local groups and workplaces in and around Ashford to deliver sessions.

Booking is essential – please contact the centre manager to book or for further details.
