Wilderness Tribe

Wilderness Tribe CIC  re-connect people with themselves, each other and nature.  We harness the power of nature, bush-craft and connections to overcome social isolation, improve wellbeing and build people’s resilience.

Our aims are to use the power of nature to tackle mental health issues, reduce social isolation, and help people to move forward.

The Everyman Tribe is a men only programme that is run in cycles of 8 sessions (once a week), over which time we will grow as a group and individually by learning ancestral skills, reflecting on and challenging ourselves… We will be learning skills that we can take with us to be stronger and more resilient, at home, work or whatever challenges face you next.

It is open to men of all ages who live in the Cheshire West Area.

We strongly believe that this ‘part time’ approach makes it much more accessible, allowing you to fit in some ‘me time’  in for yourself alongside your busy lives.

Areas: Flintshire, Wrexham, Cheshire, Greater Manchester

It all started with answering a Facebook post about a 8 week programme covering bushcraft skills, getting back to basics and some mindfulness work. Well, during those 8 weeks I learnt loads. Not only building on my practical skills, I also got to get to know myself a whole lot more. The friendships made during those weeks and since then are amazing. We now all have the respect for those around us and the respect for ourselves! We have guys who have grown massively in confidence brought on by the safe space we hold for one another and the support offered by all. We have grown as a tribe which is evident by the different groups such as walking, range sports, bushcraft skills and even Dungeons and Dragons being ran by the ever growing team of volunteers. Do I 'feel' it has made a difference in my outlook of things? It certainly has had a positive impact!!!

I went through the Everyman programme and have attended a few talking circles too. It is a much needed space for men to talk and open up. I’ve met some great friends through the wilderness tribe and what they do really helps men not feel lonely and have a safe space to talk about mental health challenges.

Wilderness Tribe are a great company which I can’t recommend highly enough! There are a verity of courses available to attend which help with gaining new skills, making connections with like minded people and whilst learning more about yourself. What a fantastic opportunity to be involved with a local company who are truly making a difference!

I attended Wilderness Tribes 8 week Everyman Program. I learnt about bushcraft, made new friends and learnt to be more self aware. It was really good to be outdoors, doing something with purpose and learning about myself with other people. My highlight was at the end putting my skills to use and sleeping the night in a shelter that others had built earlier in the day. It was a great way for me to boost my wellbeing.
