Free business support & local funding opportunities for Bedford Borough enterprises

If you’re a small enterprise based in Bedford Borough, there are two exciting opportunities available right now to help you grow your business and make a difference in your community.

University of Bedfordshire – Fully funded business workshops

The University of Bedfordshire is offering a series of free workshops designed to boost your business productivity and support sustainable growth. Topics include:

  • Strategic marketing tasters.
  • Grant application writing.
  • Business innovation and planning.

These workshops are funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and are open to businesses located in the Bedford Borough area.

Big Local – Community funding in Kingsbrook and Cauldwell

Big Local, a major initiative from Local Trust, has invested over £1 million into the Kingsbrook and Cauldwell area of Bedford to support local projects and community-led change.

Following community consultation, the current plan (running until March 2026) focuses on four key priorities:

  • Future generations – Youth activities, leadership, and learning.
  • Parks – Health, leisure, and environmental improvements.
  • Environment & green spaces – Climate action and street scene enhancements.
  • Community – Community hub, activities, cohesion, and learning.

Projects are being monitored and supported by Bedfordshire CVS (BCVS) to ensure successful delivery.
