Café71 are hosting a free training session on self-harm at 71-77 St Anne Street (Chester, CH1 3HT) on Friday 24th May from 10:00 – 14:00.
Learning outcomes from the day will include:
- Improved awareness of self-harm and the key issues associated with it
- Consideration of ways to reduce stigma and discrimination
- Understanding of warning signs and symptoms of emotional distress and self-harm
- Understanding of the direct and wider impact of self-harm
- Development of skills to respond to and support an individual in distress
- Development of knowledge of evidence-based brief interventions to support someone who self-harms
- Understanding of the importance of recovery
- Enhanced confidence, working practice, knowledge, and skills
