As last week was Loneliness Awareness Week, Community Catalysts Cardiff would like to highlight our efforts in addressing loneliness and isolation. With loneliness affecting so many individuals in our community, it’s crucial to take action. We aim to empower older adults and those with disabilities to stay connected and engaged in our community, prioritising their wellbeing. But how can we do that?
Our Small Good Stuff directory features micro-enterprises offering services such as companionship, sometimes that might be linked in with other services such as music, sports, or creative activities etc. These services facilitate social interaction, hobby groups, and cultural events, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Are you feeling lonely and need support? Please check out our Small Good Stuff directory for enterprises offering companionship and care in Cardiff.
If you would like to set up your own care enterprise, which will help to combat loneliness and isolation with people who are older, or with disabilities, contact Sam to find out more about the Community Catalysts Development Programme on sam.walker@communitycatalysts.co.uk. Micro-enterprises already providing support can also benefit from our Community Catalysts Development Programme, where they can refine their services to tackle loneliness.
