Sackler Trust

The Sackler Trust supports UK registered charities and provides one-off or multi-year grants for a wide range of organisations that focus on:

• Science
• Education
• Arts
• Heritage
• The Environment
• Social Good

They prioritise organisations that increase access and deliver long-term public benefit, supporting vulnerable communities.

Grant size: Varies, but average is £20,000 – £50,000

Bailey Thomas Charitable Fund

The Bailey Thomas Charitable Fund provide grants to support the care and relief of those affected by learning disabilities. Small and large grants are available to support capital and revenue costs and can be used for both specific projects and general running/core costs.

Grant size: Main grants round, large grants for £9,000 or above.

Small grants: £250-£5,000 (ongoing deadline)

Deadlines to apply: Large grants deadline has passed. Small grants rolling monthly.

Matthew Good Foundation: Grants for Good

The Matthew Good Foundation invites applications on behalf of local community groups, charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises across the UK that have a positive impact on communities, people or the environment and had an average income of less than £50,000 in the last 12 months.

Grant size: £15,000.

Charities and projects are welcome to apply all year round, and your application will be considered in the next funding round. Funding is awarded every three months, in April, July, October and January, with an application deadline of the 15th of the month before. E.g., for the January round, applications will close on the 15th December.

Screwfix Foundation

The Screwfix Foundation offers grants to improve, repair and maintain homes and community facilities throughout the UK.

It prioritises projects that make a longer-term impact and will fund projects such as installation of new kitchens/bathrooms/sensory rooms, improving lighting, heating, or general painting or security needs.

Grant size: Up to £5,000.

Deadline to apply: Ongoing, quarterly meetings held in March, June, September and December.

The Arnold Clark Community Fund

Supporting UK registered charities, voluntary/community organisations and social enterprises located within 50 miles of an Arnold Clark branch. Applicants are only eligible if in one of the following categories:

• animal welfare (benefitting humans)
• arts and culture
• community development
• disability
• education
• recreation
• relief support
• mental health support

Grant size: Ni minimum or maximum

Grassroots Grants (England)

Groundwork is working with Postcode Lottery for a third year to deliver Grassroots Grants. This year, the programme will provide unrestricted funding of up to £2,000 to 700 small, local organisations in England that are making a positive difference in their communities (with an income up to £25,000).

Funding can be used for core organisational costs that support the important work organisations deliver in their communities. The funding offered is unrestricted and therefore flexible ad can be used where it is most needed.

Priority will be given to supporting communities that rank in the top 15% on the English Indices of Depravation and those that support marginalised or vulnerable communities.

Grant size: up to £2,000

Deadline to apply: Open until September 2026, responses received within 10 weeks.

Arts Council National Lottery Projects Grants (England)

The Arts Council have re-opened their Small and Large grants. Through their National Lottery Project Grants, they aim to support projects that focus on the arts, museums, and libraries across England to support organisations, artists and cultural practitioners to develop creative activities for the public.

They will fund a wide range of activities, from artistic creational to organisational development.

Grant size: Small grants up to £30,000 or Large grants up to £100,000

Deadlines to apply: Open all year (12-14 weeks for decisions)

CLA Charitable Trust – England and Wales

The CLA Charitable Trust is offering grants of up to £5,000 to UK registered charities, CICs and constituted charitable organisations supporting the most disadvantaged people in their communities, especially young people.

They prioritise supporting charitable organisations that access the benefits of the countryside to pursue the health and wellbeing of people and to provide opportunities for education about the countryside in England and Wales.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation – Youth Fund 

The Youth Fund supports organisations whose main purpose is working with and for young people (aged 14-25) who face complex transitions to adulthood.  They usually make around 25 grants per year to organisations with an income below £30,000 or above £3.5 million.
