Communities 1st are running a one-day face-to-face training course on recruiting, retaining, and managing volunteers.

Topics covered in this session will include:

  1. Volunteer motivation.
  2. Writing role descriptions.
  3. Writing recruitment adverts.
  4. Selection process.
  5. Induction and support.
  6. Volunteer supervision.
  7. Managing changing motivations.
  8. Dealing with challenging or difficult behaviour.
  9. Saying “goodbye”.
  10. Rewarding and recognising volunteers.
  11. The Six-Point Promise (ideal for those new to volunteer management and for organisations wishing to gain Volunteering Herts’ 6-Point Promise accreditation).

Please note that there is a charge to attend this training (as follows):

Herts based voluntary sector organisations – £70
Statutory and non-Herts based organisations – £400
