Are you running or setting up a group or organisation and want a bit of help?

Whether or not you want to publicise what you offer on the directory, joining the Small Good Stuff gang could be for you. Becoming a member is really easy and totally free of charge. Once registered as a member you can:

  • Access a resource library of useful documents and links to other organisations.
  • Link with others through our Peer Network.
  • Display your working pattern and available capacity.
  • Get customers to leave reviews about your service.

Small Good Stuff members can access all of these resources free of charge.

However, before you register, please check that you meet the following criteria:

People and organisations who want to join the Small Good Stuff directory must be delivering or planning to deliver support or services that:

  • Have 8 or fewer full-time/equivalent workers (paid or unpaid).
  • Are independent of any larger or parent organisation.
  • Are flexible and person-centred.
  • Are provided in local communities (generally if you operate or intend to operate in different boroughs/council areas you will not meet this criteria).
  • Value the person and their gifts.
  • Promote diversity and equality of opportunity.
  • Are compliant with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Are viable and offer security to the people who use them.

Members are expected to follow high standards of professional practice and be committed to:

  • Writing about their enterprise and services in an accurate and honest manner.
  • Ensuring that their service is centred around the person and designed to meet their requirements.
  • Ensuring that their service is safe and follows safeguarding principles.
  • Continually improving the quality of the service that they offer.
  • Continually improving and developing their own knowledge and skills and supporting their workers to do the same.

Please note that Small Good Stuff is not appropriate for and does not include:

  • Personal assistants/PAs - this is because we assume that PAs are predominantly employees and we only support enterprises (operating on a voluntary or commercial basis) that need to market their offer to gain customers.
  • CQC-registered services that operate or have an office in more than one area.
  • Employment agencies and introduction services.
  • Enterprises offering formal counselling or training.
  • Enterprises offering live-in care if self- employed.
  • Enterprises offering healthcare tasks unless they are registered with CQC/CIW.
  • National online services and support.

If you need more information regarding the above, you may be able to gain advice from one of our local projects if operating in your area. Visit our homepage and scroll down to 'find your local directory' to see if we are currently working where you live. Contact details can be found at the bottom of each local page.

Alternatively, if we are not working in your area, you can email enquiries@smallgoodstuff.co.uk with any questions.
