Sensory services in Kent
If any customers/residents are d/Deaf, blind, or deaf/blind, and are needing additional support, there are several places you can go:
- Kent County Council’s sensory services have a specialist team who provide social care services for adults and children who have sensory needs. Contact them on 03000 418100 or email sensoryservices@kent.gov.uk.
- Hi Kent is a local charity providing a huge range of support for the thousands of Kent residents who live with hearing loss. Contact them on 01622 691151.
- Kent Association for the Blind promotes independence and choice for people with visual impairment and dual sensory loss. Contact them on 01622 691357.
- 3D Care (formerly BSL Community) specialise in supporting deaf people and have specialist deaf parenting services. Contact them on 01622 410511.
- KCC also have interpreting services for d/Deaf and deaf/blind people. Contact them on 03000 421344 or BSLInterpreting@kent.gov.uk.
- NHS diabetic eye screening offers eye screening for people with diabetes.
