Warrington Poverty Truth Commission

Work has recently begun facilitating the Warrington Poverty Truth Commission. The Commission is beginning to build relationships with local groups and initiatives that are all working and supporting people’s everyday experiences of hardship. It is hoped that the micro-enterprises in Warrington will be able to connect with this, as many already support or are working closely with people who may be facing poverty, isolation, or other forms of disadvantage.

Get involved!

The Warrington Poverty Truth Commission is looking for people with lived experience of poverty (whatever that might look like) to get involved.

What you can expect

  • To work together with decision makers and leaders from local organisations like the council and health to find achievable solutions to issues that communities face.
  • To share experiences with others in a safe space, build confidence, and use your wisdom to bring about change.
  • To work together for up to two years, being invited to monthly get togethers, regular catch-ups over a brew, and occasional events.

Everyone taking part in the commission will be provided with refreshments at all meetings and travel expenses will be paid.
