What matters to you?

Age Cymru‘s new ‘What matters to you? Current experiences of people aged 50 or over in Wales’ report shows something we’ve always known – what makes life good is different for everyone. For some people it’s staying independent, for others it’s company, hobbies, or simply a bit of help getting the everyday stuff done. In Cardiff, the Small Good Stuff directory is a brilliant way to find local people offering just that – small, friendly services that fit around you. These include a hand with shopping, someone to share a cuppa with, or support to get to where you want to be.

You might not use these services – you could offer them! Community Catalysts helps people turn their skills, passions, and kindness into little enterprises that make a big difference in their community. Care isn’t only about washing and preparing food – it’s about what matters most to each of us, however big or small. If you’d like to find support, or fancy giving it a go yourself, take a look at Small Good Stuff or drop Sam an email at sam.walker@communitycatalysts.co.uk.

Flyer reading 'Enterprises in the Small Good Stuff directory often offer services which can help overcome some of the challenges highlighted in the report, such as: Make & get to appointments (GP, vaccination, dentists, eye tests, hospital, physio, surgery, audiology, podiatry, blood tests, routine, etc) Pick up things from pharmacy/shops Get out & about (e.g. access face to face banking, seeing friends/family, go to group activities in the community) House repairs - organise Support after bereavement/grief Training to help prevent being scammed & technology support (e.g. pay bills, contact family members) Make house suitable for needs & security (e.g. set up a video doorbell) Garden help Paperwork/PIP/Disabled badge support, etc.
