The majority of my career has been spent in education, teaching modern foreign languages at secondary level, as well as having a pastoral role as a form and year tutor. I loved teaching but after many years in schools I decided, for a variety of reasons, that it was time for a change of direction. I worked for the National Trust and then had the opportunity to take on the role as Festival Liaison Officer for the science content of the Bluedot Festival.
I have held several voluntary posts in a variety of sectors, from supporting the elderly to animal welfare. Due to personal circumstances (as a carer for my mother) I have a particular interest in the well-being of those living with dementia.
I am still able to pursue my love of French and I teach small groups of adult learners. I enjoy spending time outdoors or indoors with a good book or film.
