The New System Alliance has launched a Strengths-based Directory for commissioners, funders, organisations and people that want to explore alternative options to support. These options include organisations that focus on the strengths of people and relationships – the skills, experience and capabilities that people and communities can bring to improve care and support.
The Directory aims to:
Inspire by sharing what’s possible in public services
Connect innovators and practitioners around work that aligns with the New System Alliance values
Inform and support commissioners to make more informed and structured decisions
In his blog, Alex Fox, CEO of Mayday Trust said:
“The Strengths-based Directory gathers some of the organisations which are thinking the most deeply and radically about strengths-based and relational working, and which are putting those ideas into practice.”
Organisations included are categorised under three areas: Work with People, Community Development, and Strategic Support. We’re delighted to be listed among other organisations that are contributing to positive change in:
- Place-based community work
- National and sector partnerships
- Support for organisations and providers
To celebrate the launch of the Directory, get along to a Team up for Good, free online event that will be held on 28 November, 11-12.30pm. It will showcase three organisations representing each of the Directory categories. Each organisation will provide an honest reflection of their work – the wins, the barriers and hopes for the future.
