Paul Morton, Chair of our Board of Directors, is delighted to announce that Alex Fox OBE will take up the role of CEO at Community Catalysts on 16 March.
Alex is an experienced leader and innovator, with a reputation for developing more human and effective relationships between public services and the people and communities they serve.
For many years, Alex led the innovative social care charity, Shared Lives Plus from small beginnings to become a nationally-significant changemaker which reshaped people’s expectations of what can be achieved when people help and support each other.
More recently he has been leading significant transformation programmes with councils as part of IMPOWER’s award-winning consultancy team. Alex has helped found and lead national transformation partnerships and initiatives and worked alongside people who draw on support to influence at the highest levels. He has been one of the Observer’s ‘Britain’s New Radicals’, wrote a well-received book on rethinking public services and was awarded an OBE for services to social care in 2016.
Alex commented:
“There couldn’t be a more important mission than enabling many more people to live good lives. Community Catalysts is one of the very few organisations in the country which is demonstrating that empowering and deeply human relationships between public services and people are possible, sustainable and scalable. I’m so excited to be working with the team to bring much-needed hope to people who draw on support and the organisations that support them, at a time when things have never been tougher.”
Paul Morton, Chair of Community Catalysts Board said:
“We are delighted to welcome Alex to the Community Catalyst family. He has the right blend of experience, enthusiasm and connectivity to continue to deliver our current strategy and to prepare us for the future. We would like to thank our outgoing CEO Pip Cannons for all that she has done for Community Catalyst over the past 5 years and wish her well with her future direction.”
