Council report shows social impact of community micro-enterprise project
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Social Investment Impact Report shows that the Community Micro-enterprise Development Programme made a £3.15 saving for every £1 spent.
This figure is based on outcomes experienced by residents in the borough, including the wellbeing and economic benefits of new employment opportunities being created and existing jobs being safeguarded because of the micro-enterprises.
The report evaluates the impact of activities undertaken by the council, council suppliers, and the voluntary and community sector. It represents activities and initiatives that are generating social value for residents in Kensington and Chelsea, so the total impact will be greater than what is detailed.
We’re delighted to see the social value of the project highlighted in the report. As well as changing the lives of people across areas of the UK, community micro-enterprise development can provide economic and wider social benefits as detailed.
“Since partnering with Community Catalysts in May 2024, I’ve been truly impressed by the powerful, free support they provide. Bhupinder [Catalyst in RBKC] has gone beyond expectations by guiding us with essential templates, step-by-step advice and consistent encouragement that has strengthened our confidence. As a small business with limited connections, Bhupinder’s proactive support has been both heartening and transformative.”
