Community Enterprise Catalyst (Powys) / Catalydd Mentro Cymunedol (Powys)

Heather qualified as a physiotherapist in 1994 and worked in the NHS for more than 20 years specialising in hydrotherapy. In 2016 Heather became a community physiotherapist for older people in South Powys. Inspired by her participation in an integrated health and social care project, Heather decided to work independently, adopting the values of the person-centred approach.

It is clear that what matters to the people of Powys and their families is to be able to access quality care and support, when they need it. Heather is delighted to work for Community Catalysts in Powys to assist those who would like to work independently in the care and support sector to become providers.

Outside of work Heather enjoys the Brecon Beacons National Park with her husband, horse and three dogs.

Cymhwysodd Heather fel ffisiotherapydd ym 1994 a bu’n gweithio yn y GIG am fwy nag 20 mlynedd yn arbenigo mewn hydrotherapi. Yn 2016 daeth Heather yn ffisiotherapydd cymunedol ar gyfer pobl hŷn yn ardal De Powys. Cafodd ei hysbrydoli wedi iddi gymryd rhan mewn prosiect iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol integredig, a phenderfynodd Heather ddechrau gweithio’n annibynnol  gan weithredu gwerthoedd sy’n canolbwyntio ar yr unigolyn.

Mae’n amlwg mai’r hyn sy’n bwysig i bobl Powys a’u teuluoedd yw gallu cael mynediad at ofal a chymorth o ansawdd uchel, pan fydd ei angen arnynt. Mae Heather yn falch iawn o weithio i Community Catalysts ym Mhowys i gynorthwyo’r rhai sy’n dymuno gweithio’n annibynnol yn y sector gofal a chymorth i ddod yn ddarparwyr.

Y tu allan i’r gwaith mae Heather yn mwynhau Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog gyda’i gŵr, ceffyl a thri chi.
